Although Finnlamelli catalogues offer numerous large, medium or small-type houses, they are mainly a starting point from which the company's architects develop a suitable solution for the client. Depending on the position of the house on the lot, movement of the sun, shadow of the forest or reflections of the pond water and of course the wishes of the family. Contrarily to the common presumption, the development of a special solution doesn't require higher expenditures since the technical project of each house and the details used are made from scratch in the manufacturer's plant in Finland, whatever the project type. Only adding material or special elements can raise the price of the customised solution.

Thus two identical log-houses can't be found, as in the engineering of each new home family's needs-wishes and the surrounding environment, where the house is planned, is taken into account.

In creating projects we start from the principle: respect the classic, but think originally. The laminated log, as a construction material, grants the opportunity to create totally new and never seen before solutions in the architecture of a log-house, which's style fits into different urban areas, e.g. from the private seaside grove to densely populated suburban lots.

Laminated logs as a building material

People have trusted wood, as the oldest building material, for millennia. An environmentally savvy person knows to value the advantages of the laminated log as a building material. It is a stabile, six-piece glued log that does not crack because of the source materials and gluing technology and the finished house practically doesn't sag at all. The main advantage of log-walls might be considered the humidity regulation that does not work in many of the modern wall-constructions. When it is said that a log-house breathes, then it regularly means humidity regulation not the situation where air moves between the wall constructions and the house cannot preserve heat. A professionally assembled laminated log-house is air-tight and warm. Also the thermographic inspections', that were conducted in the houses we have built, results, which evaluated thermal isolation and air tightness, have confirmed this fact. For houses that are meant for year-round use we use massive laminated logs, which measurements are 180x260 mm, 202x260 mm and 240x260 mm and which are sufficiently thermally isolated to ensure energy savings standards that are up to date with modern requirements.

Construction

A good and quality project becomes the wished dream home with the help of knowledgeable builders. We are trying to be flexible also in offering building services and we offer it in different stages.

The exterior solution includes mainly: fitting the outer walls, filler for the openings and fitting the roof. This is a service for a person who has the skills, time and wish to organise his or her build themselves and thus save or postpone construction costs.

The full-service includes all of the works necessary to complete the house. This list usually includes: building the outer utility lines, foundation works, carpentry, internal communications works, interior finishing works and many other works that are necessary to completing a house. By selecting the full-service the client has the option to do what he does best and leave all the rest in the knowledgeable hands of the professionals.
