In Pärnumaa, near the Latvian border, in a calm lough there is a summer house where at sunset through the windows shines the glow of the sea, seen through the birch grove.
The summer home, created in the log-house with the help of interior architect Airita Aimi, is meant for the perfect and private vacation. The Finnish owners found the ideal lot where to erect the log-house with the help of their Estonian friend. When after the cleaning of the beachside bush it had become the beautiful and frail birch grove, then it was settled that this hidden house will become a summer home that is open to the sea and the sun.
A large portion of the ground floor is consumed by the living room with an open kitchen that stretches through two storeys. The ground floor in addition facilitates a bedroom with a spacious bathroom and a sauna with direct access to the seaside terrace. The main eye catcher of the living room is certainly the XXXL-size chandelier with forks and spoons hanging from it that stand over the table. In the furniture choices of the living room dominate comfortable Italian producers', Calligaris and Corinto, chairs from Palazzo and a sofa from
Brown, golden and blue The log walls gave the colour palette of the summer home a warm direction. Beside the brownish-golden toned rooms sparkle bright bathspill-blue toned bathrooms, for which ceramic tiles were found from the Interstudio catalogue. Wooden floors further add brown tones. The first varnish-coated beautiful wooden doors were cleared before mounting them. The wall, under the stairs leading up to the first floor, was painted in warm gold. Summery warm mood is brought into the house by tall ShiShi trees next to the terrace door.
A perfect home for bare feet The warm floors of the summer home and the grass that begins at the terrace and spans all the way up to the sea, makes you want to pull your shoes off. In front of the already naturally warm wooden floor lies the fluffy Valley carpet, where one can hide his or her toes; the kitchen corner has a warm
A hospitable house Already in building and furnishing the sauna, the kitchen and the bathrooms, it was taken into account that with the family many guests will be arriving on vacation. The kitchen fridge is big enough to hold a week’s worth of food supplies, when needed, and the shelves of the wine freezer will never be empty. Also the sauna is spacious enough to share the space with friends. The first floor of the house regularly is for the guests, it houses two comfortable bedrooms with a large bathroom.
The blissful outdoor life The summer is for living outdoors and in the yard area of this summer home it has had just as much attention as the interior rooms. The yard has a separate roomy kitchen with an outside dining area, which is protected from summer rain by a roof. The roomy terrace houses both the Cane-series dinner table as well as sun-bathing chairs, at the moment an outside pool is yet to be fitted. A pathway that leads through the birches onto the white sandy beach, begins at the house. On tender August nights the yard is brightened by exiting Flos outer lamps from Hektor Light.
